As of the 2001 census, the population of the Wetheral Ward is 4,039.[1] The civil parish of Wetheral is slightly larger, with a population of 5,203.[2] Along with nearby Scotby and the merged village of Warwick Bridge - Corby Hill - Little Corby, this is one of the most affluent areas of North Cumbria.
